COMPLETE AND PARTIAL DENTURES
Dr. Olson always encourages people to save their teeth whenever possible. However, if your teeth cannot be saved, or if you already wear a denture, Dr. Olson can provide you with high quality new or replacement dentures.

Dr. Olson will spend the needed time with you to fully understand your dental condition and listen to your unique concerns so that he can attain the best possible fit and natural appearance for you.

Creating a well-made denture with an excellent fit is usually a four-step process*.

STEP ONE
Dr. Olson makes accurate impressions and bite records of your mouth. Next, he invites your participation in selecting the color, size, and shape of your new denture teeth. He then sets your chosen denture teeth in wax; and, with them placed in your mouth, he reviews their natural appearance with you. He will continue to work with you until you are completely pleased with the appearance of your new teeth. This process may take two to three appointments.
STEP TWO
During the next several days, Dr. Olson makes further refinements to your wax denture and prepares it for final processing into a completed denture.

STEP THREE
You return for a fitting of your new denture. At this appointment, Dr. Olson uses a special pressure-indicating medium that allows him to make adjustments for minor changes that may have occurred during processing of your denture. He also makes adjustments for changes that have occurred to your mouth tissues since impressions and bite records were made. These extra steps ensure the best possible fit.

STEP FOUR
Your treatment includes 12-months of follow-up care. This care includes examinations of your mouth tissues and the fit of your dentures. Adjustments to your dentures are made as needed to provide you with the best possible oral health and comfort.

Long-term success with your dentures depends on the technical excellence of the treatment as well as a combination of a healthy lifestyle, daily home-care, and periodic professional maintenance. During your appointments we will show you how to protect your investment by properly caring for your dentures.

*Dr. Olson will recommend a transitional denture if you have remaining teeth. He will fabricate it in his lab and you will receive it at the same appointment that you have your front teeth removed. You will never be without teeth. Your transitional denture is worn while your mouth tissues heal and reshape.
